Vote Liberal Democrat today
Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote to elect a strong local champion who will fight for a fair deal for you and your community.
Following on from our excellent results in the 2023 local elections for the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, the Liberal Democrats have been quick to exert their influence on the council's policies.
The Liberal Democrats are now the 2nd largest group on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and we aim to take control of it in 2027. We believe passionately that politics begins at community level, and this is at the heart of our national politics - to devolve power to local people instead of unanswerable officialdom in London.
The Conservatives are now in free fall in Britain's national politics. Labour offer more of the same policies that the Blair-Brown government offered over 20 years ago and which eventually got Britain into financial trouble. Only the liberal Democrats offer a new and exciting approach.
Think about that on polling day on July 4th and lend us your support!
As you will know there are 2 by-elections for the East Riding Council on 4th July in addition to the General Election for the national parliament.
Gary hopes to join the growing Liberal Democrat team on the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. He is well qualified. A Master Mariner and Humber Pilot, he is also a passionate local campainger and a dedicated family man.
Matthew is our candidate for the South East Holderness by-election. He comes with a wealth of experience and was a councillor in Mid-Holderness for several years. He is also a former Humberside Police Commissioner - a man who is used to operating at a high level. Matthew feels that the current state of British politics compels him to seek to return to local front-line politics where he can make a difference for his residents.
As a major national party the Liberal Democrats hope to make gains in the General Election on July 4th. Here are our candidates.
Cllr Denis Healy
Denis is the leader of the highly successful Liberal Democrat Group on East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The group has gone from strength to strength and is now the second largest on the council, able to influence the local government of East Yorkshire for the benefit of its citizens. A well educated man, Denis led a successful career in business before retiring to concentrate on community politics.
Cllr Jayne Phoenix
Jayne serves as an East Riding councillor for the Bridlington North Ward, where she has won the trust of her residents due to her hard work and campaigning for better services. A long time community campaigner, Jayne has recently campaigned to try and improve the deteriorating health care services available in Bridlington and for more investment and better transport links. Jayne really needs to take the campaign to London and be in parliament to exert more influence where many of the decisions are taken.
Cllr Dale Needham
Dale has made his mark on the Pocklington Provincial ward where he serves as an East Riding councillor. A business man in the tourism sector, Dale takes a business-like approach to getting things done.
We are confident that we have great candidates in the local and national elections on July 4th. Our candidates and campaigners will be out in local communities over the next few weeks explaining our policies and how they can help you. Consider lending us your vote on July 4th! We will never take you for granted!
Every vote for the Liberal Democrats is a vote to elect a strong local champion who will fight for a fair deal for you and your community.
For a Fair Deal
We have a fair plan to fund a rescue package for our health services.
