Some challenges are more long term, however, like road safety improvements at Summit, Littleborough where traffic islands are yet to be installed to augment the work already done.

Hobhouse says 'no' to chips in bins in Middleton!

Rochdale Borough Council's Environment Boss - Lib Dem Councillor Wera Hobhouse has ruled out microchips in wheelie bins in the Rochdale Borough. Following a question from Councillors at last weeks Middleton Township meeting Wera said, "I can reassure the people of this Borough that we haven't introduced chips to our wheelie bins and there are no plans by this Council to do so in the foreseeable future.

Cross Channel Ferry (P&O)

High winds cause Kent travel disruption

High winds are causing disruption across Kent today, with the Port of Dover and the Sheppey Crossing shut, and delays at the Dartford Crossing. Phase 1 of Operation Stack has also been implemented on the M20, closing the motorway from Junction 11-12.
