Stonewall survey revealing but a missed opportunity

DELGA has given the new Stonewall survey publication 'Living Together' a guarded welcome. Chair Jen Yockney commented, "The survey gives a valuable and uplifting snapshot of public opinion in Britain on lesbians and gay men, but almost entirely misses out on attitudes to bisexual men and women - which I suspect would give a broader understanding of how social acceptance varies between parts of the LGBT communities".

EU declaration on homophobia falls

A European Parliament attempt to tackle homophobia in the EU has fallen after 239 out of 785 members of the European Parliament have signed a declaration (similar to an early day motion in the House of Commons) against homophobic bullying. While this represents the welcome support for gay rights from 30% of all MEPs, there were not enough signatures for it to move on to the next stage.
