Local Lib Dem campaigner Gary Fuller has expressed astonishment at Double Yellow lines in Christchurch Road which appear to have melted. The lines, which prevent parking next to Folkestone's Garden of Remembrance, appear to have melted where a part of the road dips. Gary was at a loss to explain how this has occurred.

A free training day organised by Kent Refugee Help on Saturday 27th September from 11 am - 4 pm. The programme will focus on release on bail from immigration detention, the role of sureties in the immigration courts and ongoing support once people are released from detention.

In the last week of August the Post Office announced plans to close the Newhampton Road West Post Office. The nearest post office would be at the Avion Centre. The Royal Mail claimed that the Newhampton Road West Post Office served an average of just 750 to 999 customers a week where as the Avion Centre Post Office serves twice that number and most offices three times as many.
The abolition of the charge that Bedford Borough Council has forced upon residents paying their council tax bills at the post office since 2006 has moved a step closer after the Mayor bowed to pressure and declared his support for a review of the policy.
