Lib Dems Demand General Election!

Following the resignation of Tony Blair, Liberal Democrats have called for a General Election. Ming Campbell, Lib Dem Leader said "Before the last General Election Tony Blair pledged to serve a full third term and the British electorate voted for him on this basis. Now the Prime Minister is leaving it is only right that the British public have their say on who will be their next Prime Minister."

Lib Dems celebrate election success

40 Liberal Democrats were elected to Chelmsford Borough Council and Great Baddow and Writtle Parish Councils on 3rd May. Most of those councillors plus their helpers came together to mark their election success at a post-election celebration. The Liberal Democrats were the ONLY party to have more seats in Chelmsford after the 3rd May elections than before.

Robinson helps launch 'No 2 ID - Chelmsford'

"Chelmsford No 2 ID" group launched at site of new interrogation centre, as Government announces another massive jump in database scheme costs. Chelmsford Liberal Democrat Stephen Robinson joined campaigners from other parties and none to launch the Chelmsford branch of the national campaign group on Wednesday 9 May. The first step in creating a massive national database of all your personal details is compulsory interviews for new passports, followed by all those renewing their passport.

New Parish Council for West End

Following the recent elections West End Parish Council now has a new mandate to serve the people of West End. For the first time in nearly 15 years there were contested elections for the Parish Council in one ward. In that ward, West End South, the people of West End elected all five of the Liberal Democrat candidates standing plus the two conservatives to fill up to two remaining slots for the ward.

County Council backs Lib Dem Motion on ID Cards

This week at a meeting of Bedfordshire County Council the Council voted to back Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader Councillor Susan Gaszczak's motion to have nothing to do with ID Cards unless required to do so by law.
