Tony Blair has flown to the US for his last set of talks as prime minister with President Bush. Ahead of the talks, Ming Campbell said the uncritical friendship between the PM and President had severely undermined the two countries' 'special relationship', and he highlighted what Gordon Brown must do to restore balance to the alliance. Tony Blair and George Bush's relationship has resulted in untold damage to our reputation at home and abroad.

In response to your story today on the political situation in Stockton, I'd like to point out that the Liberal Democrat group has said since before the election "We will work constructively with all parties" (page 4 of our manifesto, available from www.stocktonlibdems.org.uk). I reaffirmed that message to all group leaders on Sunday 6th May. The response from the Labour group leader was "I have absolutely no interest in what a handful of Liberal Democrats have decided, or who you will or will not work with." That is not what I interpret as constructive working.
At the Annual Council meeting on 16th May, newly elected Liberal Democrat Councillor Karen Chilvers presented the petition to save Keys Hall, the community facility that was voted "surplus to leisure and recreational requirements" recently.
