Newcastle East Lib Dem Parliamentary Spokesman Greg Stone has called for the Government to take swifter action over the campaign to award compensation to retired workers suffering from pleural plaques after working in heavy industry.
A mixed bag of Council meetings this week: On Monday I attended a training session for all Councillors. The subject was "The role of a Councillor in Corporate Parenting". When I say all councillors it was a pity only around ten turned up.
Over the last two weeks there have been two reports that paint a shocking picture of the way some of our most vulnerable people are treated. They are damming indictments of the managers and politicians involved in our caring services.
The Fuel Poverty Bill has been thrown out of parliament because not enough MPs could be bothered to vote.
