Tim will start his work in the constituency on Monday at a meeting with bosses at Cumbria PCT. Tim will be discussing concerns surrounding the current 'Great Health Debate'. Later, Tim will be performing the official opening of the new 'play castle' at Natland pre-school.

Gordon Brown plans further reductions in Civil Liberties

Gordon Brown has announced his plans to extend the existing anti-terror laws when he takes over as Prime Minister. He wants to give the police more powers - including holding suspects without charge for more than 28 days and allowing the police to continue questioning suspects after they have been charged. Civil liberties campaigners have condemned the plans. Mr Brown has also stated that he is also planning to summon cross-party talks in the Privy Council on the use of phone-tap evidence in court.

Apology from disabled parking MP

A Conservative MP who parked illegally in a disabled bay has said comments he made were misconstrued. Anthony Steen, MP for Totnes in Devon, left his car at Newton Abbot rail station for several days last week and received two fixed penalty notices.
