Epsom Station - Replies from Solum

Solum Regeneration has now replied to Cllr Julie Morris with their answers to the questions asked by members of the public at the public meeting held at the Phoenix Club on 30th November. Their replies have been distributed to those who gave us an e-mail address and have now been posted on this website.

Uganda anti-gay law is state homophobia

The European Parliament will tomorrow debate as a breach of human rights proposed anti-homosexual legislation in Uganda introducing a series of draconian punishments for gay people. Liberal Democrat European justice & human rights spokeswoman and London MEP Sarah Ludford is Vice Chair of the Liberal Democrat LGBT group (DELGA) and an active member of the European Parliament lesbian & gay rights intergroup. She said: "This appalling draft law is no less than institutionalised state homophobia. It is horrifying that the parliament of Uganda, a Commonwealth country, is even considering such an atrocious violation of personal freedoms and international human rights."

Heather Kidd Calls For More Help For New Businesses

Heather Kidd called for the Federation of Small Businesses proposals for the creation of an Enterprise Allowance Scheme to be supported. Heather said "This would help people to start up a business in these difficult times and would be a great help in rural Shropshire."
