Farron anger at proposed police force cuts

Local MP, Tim Farron has tabled a parliamentary motion protesting against the recent proposals that police numbers are to be cut in Cumbria. Mr Farron has received information from the Cumbria Police Federation that because of a reduction in funding from the government sworn police officers will be replaced with Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

MP Targets Climate Change to the Next Generation

Environmental Issues and Climate Change are high on the agenda for local MP Tim Farron. In December the MP launched a campaign to work with schools to highlight the effects of climate change. Tim's campaign will build on the good work many schools already do in this field.

EU report to slam British record on extraordinary rendition flights

A report which criticises 14 European governments, including the UK and claims they turned a blind eye to CIA flights used to transport terror suspects, is expected to face a close vote in the European Parliament. The report says the CIA operated "at least" 1,245 flights in European airspace or stopped over at European airports. Some, but not all it says, were used for extraordinary renditions.
