Longer rail franchises needed to roll back Beeching
The Liberal Democrats today published a list of railway lines and stations to be reopened in a reversal of the Beeching rail cuts in return for longer franchises for train operating companies.

Liberal Democrats in Hinckley & Bosworth welcome plans to tackle booze
Alcohol-related disorder in Hinckley & Bosworth on Friday and Saturday evenings could be tackled more effectively under new powers proposed by the Liberal Democrats. The plans to tackle binge drinking were launched by Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg MP on Monday 10th November.
