On 23rd June the Home Renewable Energy Grant was put to the Sustainable Development Panel. This grant as worded would have restricted the Grant to only two technologies: Solar hot water and heat pumps. Both are commendable technologies but the cost of solar hot water had dropped by a third in recent years and hardly needs additional incentives.

East Park Lib Dem campaigner Darren Friel said, "I am Âdelighted with these new additions to our park and it has already created a real buzz amongst local residents who are pleased to see the recent Âdevelopment and investment in the park, I have been assured that the work in progress will be completed by ÂAugust." Darren added, "Following the false and Âbroken Labour promises of the past, this is the first real Âimprovement in the park for many years." "There is however lots more to do and we will continue to press for further Âimprovements to the park so that it can be restored to its former glory."
