Tories silent in the face of homophobia

North West England Liberal Democrat MEP Sajjad Karim has revealed that in a crucial vote on a European Parliament resolution condemning rising homophobia in Europe last week, only one British Conservative MEP voted for the resolution, the rest present voting against or abstaining. This is in sharp contrast to Liberal Democrat MEPs, all of whom voted for the resolution.

10 Years on - Blair/Brown record is one of war and waste!

Ahead of tomorrow's 10th anniversary of Labour coming to power, the Liberal Democrats have released a dossier assessing the record of the Blair-Brown administration. The paper accuses the government of presiding over rising carbon emissions, soaring NHS debts and an illegal war. Visiting Dunfermline - the next-door constituency to the Chancellor's - on Saturday, Sir Menzies Campbell said Gordon Brown's time at the Treasury had seen falling social mobility, rising poverty and increasing inequality

Thank You to the Salvation Army

Many thanks are due to the Salvation Army from the people of Folkestone for their support for those affected by the earthquake on Saturday. Around 400 people, were helped by The Salvation Army following the aftermath of the earthquake on Saturday morning. The Salvation Army church and community centre in Canterbury Road, Foord, in the area of Folkestone most affected by the quake, which measured 4.3 on the Richter Scale.

Earthquake Repairs: Beware Rogue Traders and Call your Insurance Company

Kent Trading Standards are warning householders affected by Saturday's Earthquake across Folkestone, Dover and surrounding areas to take care. If householders believe that their property has been affected by the tremors and needs repairs they should contact their insurance company or landlord in the first instance and report the incident to them.
