West End's new Borough Councillors

After a good campaign in West End both Liberal Democrats candidates stormed to victory in May's local elections, Bruce Tennent won in West End North and Joyce Sortwell won West End South. This pattern was repeated by across the Eastleigh Borough with Liberal Democrats winning in 12 of the 15 wards.

Lib Dems Take Greater Share of Vote than Labour.

Lib Dems substantially increased their share of the vote in yesterday's Local Elections. What turned out to be a good night for the Tories and a devastating night for Labour revealed a consolidation of the Lib Dem position in Local Government and showed the country that 3 party politics is here to stay. The Liberal Democrats took a bigger share of the vote than the Labour party, a resounding message that the next General Election is more likely than ever to result in a hung parliament.
