Lib Dems troubled over treatment of citizens as Tories court China

The Essex partnership with Jiangsu Province in China must be accompanied by a robust expectation of improved human rights for the Chinese people in the province. That was the call from Liberal Democrat Mike Mackrory, in response to the proposal from the ruling Conservatives at Essex County Council.

County Council rejects traffic calming for Watchouse Road

The proposal for pinch points etc. along Watchouse Road, Galleywood was rejected by a county council Safety Audit. The local County Councillor, Liberal Democrat Maureen Miller, has expressed her disappointment with the failure to introduce traffic calming measures.

Council Leader accuses Labour of hypocrisy

The Leader of Rochdale Council, Councillor Alan Taylor has accused Labour Middleton Councillors of 'hypocrisy' in the light of the debate on Congestion Charging. Councillor Taylor was responding to criticism from Jim Dobbin MP and Middleton Labour Councillors, who argued that Middleton and Heywood did not have a say in Rochdale's vote to bid for money from the Government's Transport Innovation Fund.

Moulsham Youth Centre re-opened

Great news for parents. The Moulsham Youth Centre re-opened on Wednesday 25th July and is open every Wednesday during the School holidays with two sessions. Session 1 for youngsters with ages of 8 to 11 from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and Session 2 will be for the older group of 12's to 16's from 7.00pm to 9.30pm. If successful it will be opened every Wednesday with all ranges of youth activities taking place under the guidance of PCSO Sandra Strange and helpers.
