Starting his week in Westminster on Monday Tim will be attending the inaugural meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia where he will have the opportunity to meet with people from the constituency who have an interest in this area.
Westmorland & Lonsdale MP Tim Farron has said that local people should feel encouraged to continue in the fight to save the heart and stroke units at the Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal after their success in winning concessions from the trust boards as part of their Acute Services Review.

Earlier this year Park Ward Liberal Democrats launched a petition calling on Wolverhampton City Council to initiate kerb side collection of plastics for recycling. Councillor Robin Lawrence has now learned that that it will be at least one more year before any sort of regular city wide collection of plastics for recycling is introduced. A spokesman for "Enterprise", the privatised waste-collection service used by the council, told Councillor Lawrence that there could be a small-scale trial of plastics collection taking place by April 2008 but he could not confirm where such a trial might be taking place.
