Snow: Get it right next time
Over the past week, like many others in Folkestone, I've had to walk to home after becoming stranded, my child has fallen repeatedly due to icy pathways (and I've seen plenty of evidence that she isn't alone in doing so) and I've been called by an elderly person who has been trapped indoors for days (in my case, not a relative).

Poor Bus Service
The H1 bus service from Loughton to Harlow no longer runs on weekdays and there are only four H1 buses each way on Saturdays. Residents who need to go to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow will have to use the 55 service on weekdays. Not that either service actually takes you right there, as buses go only as far as the bus station.

Lib Dem climate change chief joins Farron to push case for hydro in lakes
South Lakes MP Tim Farron was joined this weekend by the Liberal Democrats' shadow secretary of state on climate change on a visit to Grasmere Hostel where the proprietor, Bev Dennison, is seeking to build a new hydro electricity scheme working alongside Gilkes of Kendal.
