Just one Wolverhampton MP opposed Trident
Congratulations to Wolverhampton North East MP, Ken Purchase, who twice voted against his own Labour Government's plans to replace the Trident submarines. First Mr Purchase was one 95 Labour MPs who joined the Liberal Democrats and voted for an amendment saying the case for renewing the UK's Trident nuclear submarine system "is not yet proven" and that a decision should be delayed. When this amendment was lost he again joined the Liberal Democrats and voted against the government's motion to proceed with the renewal of Trident.
