Commenting to the Essex Chronicle, Lib Dem Stephen Robinson has described the Tony Blair era as '10 years of wasted chances.' Things *could* only get better, after the disastrous Conservative years. Money did go to schools and hospitals; but things are not much better - because Labour (and the Conservatives) want central control; they trust Whitehall not Town Hall or local people.

Kingfisher Barn Gives Energy Lesson

Today the newest Borough facility the Kingfisher Barn at Itchen Valley Country Park in West End was officially opened by Eastleigh Borough's Mayor, Cllr Roger Smith. He was assisted by pupils from St James' Primary and they were able to discovery just how eco-friendly the new building is.

The Demise of Better Bedford

Liberal Democrats have responded to the news that the Better Bedford Party group on the Borough Council, comprising just two Councillors, is disbanding. Councillors Margaret Davey and Peter Chiswell are joining the Independent group in what appears to be a recognition of the party's diminishing strength across the Borough.
