Boost for child disabilities fund

Extra funding is being made available in part of Cumbria for children with special needs and disabilities. Annual funds were increased from £6,000 to £11,302 at the county council's Eden Local Committee meeting.

Nightclub bans girl on crutches

A disabled woman was turned away from a Devon town's nightclub after staff said her crutches could be used as weapons. Jennifer Bartle, 20, who suffers from a bone disease, was out with two friends when she tried to get into the Hush Enigma Club in Newton Abbot.

A disabled woman from Hereford says she has lost her independence after the theft of her electric wheelchair. Julie Bishop's £3,000 chair was taken from outside her flat in the Warndon area of the city.
