Lib Dem Leader Nick Clegg is spending at least one evening a week meeting people all round the country. He was in the Forum Theatre in Malvern on Thursday evening. The 450 seat theatre was packed and in the audience was a group from Wolverhampton. There were no set speeches as Mr Clegg discussed the issue of the day with the audience and answered their questions.
New charges but less parking: that's the situation at Folkestone West train station after Southeastern announced they are to introduce parking charges at the station. The cost will be £2 per day Monday to Friday (or £1.70 after 2pm).
The Liberal Democrats have won the Barton ward by-election to Canterbury City Council with Michael Steed winning the seat with a 292 majority. The majority has increased from 224 in May 2007 when the seat was last contested.
The annual Newburn Summer Festival at Newburn Activity Centre is now being planned and local community groups are being encouraged to take part.
The Udecide scheme is to be introduced in Newburn Ward.
A new 30mph speed limit has been introduced along Hexham Road.The limit is in force from Blucher Village to Throckley.
