WHAT DID IT COST US TO 'SACK' COUNTY COUNCIL CHIEF?

It appears that the dispute between West Sussex County Council and its former chief has been resolved, but the details are being kept secret. Serena Tierney, Lib Dem Parliamentary Campaigner for Mid Sussex said: "We all saw the headlines that said the County chief had been 'sacked' by the Tory council leader. He was the highest-paid council chief in the country and had been with West Sussex for 10 years. Clearly any unfair dismissal claim could reach something in the region of a million pounds. That's a lot of public money - especially when services are being cut because the council can't pay for them.

Charlton ECO Park - so many questions, so few answers

A special meeting of Spelthorne Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee is to be held to look closely at the proposal for a so-called Eco Park at Charlton Lane. Sunbury and Halliford Liberal Democrat Councillors have been asking for this meeting since December last year and only now have the Spelthorne's Conservative majority allowed a public meeting.

Coroner Calls for improved lighting on King Edward VII avenue following fatal road accident.

A CORONER has called for more lighting at the exit to the Windsor Royal Tattoo after an 85 year old woman was killed when she was hit by a car. The inquest heard that poor lighting had contributed to the death, for which a verdict of accidental death was recorded.
